Why did you want to work in a school: I had always wanted to become a teacher but went onto pursue secretarial work like many girls in the mid 1970’s. I finally pursued my dream and went to Uni at 39 to become a teacher and started retraining to become a school counsellor at 51. I love my job, love helping and supporting children and their families.

I have fond memories of him being approached by students whilst we were out in the community and remember how they would tell him that he was the best teacher they ever had. Parents would approach him with stories about the success of their children and attribute that success to my dad. I always thought wow, I want to be like that.
